Wonderland Daycare
Wonderland Daycare is a quality childcare program that is licensed by the PA Department of Public Welfare. Wonderland's daycare can be summed up in one sentence: Arrival, dismissal, and self-directed play/activities in between. When the children enter the classroom, they are greeted by a staff member, then given the freedom to explore the various learning activities and interest centers that have been prepared before their arrival. These centers are changed from week to week, day to day, and sometimes from hour to hour. Paint! Clay! Collage! Musical instruments! Blocks! Books! Dolls to bathe! Suitcases to pack! Flour and salt to make playdough with! Special things for special days! And each day is a special day!! There are enough interest centers and activities going on at one time that the child is motivated by knowing that they are there. Always something new or some way that is new. But always, enough things remain the same to provide the securities and comfort of familiarity. Learning centers are not arranged for ease of movement and convenience of use, but rather for maximum challenge to the body and mind.
A staff member is always nearby to lend support when needed - to help the children when they momentarily lose control of materials, equipment, or even their emotions. A staff member is always nearby to answer a question, offer a challenging statement, or make an asked for suggestion - in keeping with each particular child's current level of achievement, interest, ability, and needs. Sometimes a brief period of whisper! A quiet time! Relaxation! A savoring within of good feelings! An involvement time when there is a special closeness between child and child! And between teacher and child! A child's time! A magic time! Perhaps a story - or quiet music. Or a gradual approach to rhythmic activity and dancing time of crawling and jumping and growing like flowers or blowing like the wind. Or we go outdoors to run, climb, jump, or walk on the balance beam. Time to grow! Time and room to explore, to experiment, to discover! Time to play! Time to be a child!

Preschool age children can attend Wonderland Daycare as part-time, full-time, or by the hour.

Special Notes:
All preschool age children must be enrolled in one of Wonderland Preschool & Daycare's educational programs to use our daycare.The only kindergarten age children that will be using our daycare are from Wonderland Charter School.
Children attending the State College Area School District schools or private schools in First through Fifth Grades are eligible for our daycare.
