Wonderland Summer Programs
General Overview
Wonderland is open year round! During the Summer, Wonderland offers specially designed Summer Preschool and Elementary Age Enrichment Programs. These programs reinforce what the children have learned during their regular school year and help them retain perishable skills over the Summer in preparation for the next school year.
Of course, there are lots of fun activities, Summer Themes, and a more relaxed atmosphere. Age groups for the preschool programs are aligned the same as for the regular school year. That is, the children in the Penguin Program will remain with their peers in the Summer Program and then move on to the Dolphin Program in the Fall.
The Enrichment Program is a special program we designed especially for the older children. It includes graduates of kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and third grade in a class. Children work in a group setting when it is appropriate and are broken down into smaller groups based on grade level and ability for certain classroom work. Because of the size of the class, individual attention by the teacher with each of the children is a reality and a definite plus!
During the Summer months, Preschool and Enrichment Program classes are only offered during the morning. Because of the structure and staffing and because all of the children are in either a Preschool or Enrichment Class, there is no morning daycare available during the time these classes are in session. Daycare is available before class, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:50 a.m., and after classes, from 11:20 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
